Planning for Next Year
The 13th Annual Newport Vintage Dance Week is scheduled for August 14-20, 2000.
The Commonwealth Vintage Dancers are pleased to announce that the Millenial Newport Vintage Dance Werek will take place August 14th to 20th, 2000 on the seaside campus of the Portsmouth Abbey School, Newport County, Rhode Island. The Newport Vintage Dance Week is an opportunity to combine vintage dance with the pleasures of Victorian summer life. Classes will offer instruction in 19th and early 20th Century ballroom dancing. Other events include formal teas, Victorian games, tours of nearby historic Newport, an 1860's ball, and 1890's ball, a ragtime ball, and a turn of the century fancy dress (masquerade) ball.
Housing will be on the Portsmouth Abbey School campus, a private secondary school located near Newport, Rhode Island, and all meals are included (Monday dinner through Sunday breakfast).
